Weather warning on 10 June: Strong wind blowing on the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Finland
The Estonian Environment Agency has issued a level 1 strong wind warning for the Northern Baltic Sea and the eastern and western parts of the Gulf of Finland.
- Northern Baltic Sea: From the morning, southwest and west wind blowing in gusts up to 15 m/s, wave height 1–2.5 meters. In the afternoon, the wind backs to the southwest and south and increases in gusts up to 16 m/s. The warning is valid in the area from 04:00 to 20:00 (with gusts up to 16 m/s from 15:00 to 20:00).
- Western Gulf of Finland: Strong southwest and west wind is expected from 11:00. The wind will blow at 12 m/s, in gusts up to 16 m/s, wave height reaching 1–2.5 meters. The warning is valid until 20:00.
- Eastern Gulf of Finland: Strong wind will start from 13:00. Wind speed 12 m/s, in gusts up to 16 m/s, wave height 1–2.5 meters. The warning is valid until 21:00.
Those going out to sea should take into account more difficult weather conditions and higher waves.
